the most concise guide to mindful eating (ever)

i absentmindedly turned the pages,
browsing through the old travel magazine
that had been sitting on my shelf for years.

when these capitalized words jumped out at me:

MANGIA COME PENSI.
(“eat like you think.”)

and all of a sudden the message was clear.

if your thoughts are negative, mindless, and cluttered,
with little nutritious brain power,
your eating habits will certainly follow
in the same direction.

first.
clean up your thinking.
throw away the unhealthy, irrational beliefs.
say no to the chaotic and complicated dramas.

then.
MANGIA COME PENSI.
eat like you think.

commit today to transforming your thought patterns.
allow this evocative italian phrase
to penetrate your mind and embolden you.

and soon you will be witnessing
the revolution of your eating experience.

wholesome thinking, wholesome munching.

MANGIA COME PENSI.
eat like you think.

make your thoughts and mealtimes healthy.

have YOU noticed a connection between your thoughts and your eating?

I like that phrase! It’s about mindfulness and making better choices. In keeping with that idea, I try to go food shopping after a hearty lunch so that I don’t cave in buy snacks!

OMG … that was so simple and so completely awesome… Eat like you think! OMG… I think I had a revelation. I’m so glad i read this… Eat like you think…. I’m curious what will unfold. (Seriously. This is not just me hyping it!)

  5. Cathy says:

Lightbulb! I’ve got the part down about eating in a calm environment, without distractions down – and sell that one to clients all the time. Reading your post today is like a slap in the forehead – duh!

I’m curious too – like Elizabeth – to see how my thought and eating patterns coincide…then see how I can shift them.

It’ll be a whole new world!
