words read. words written. new words. interesting words. descriptive words. poetic words. collections of words.
words.
words are very important. a good writer conjures up feelings, images, scenes in a reader’s mind.
sentences and paragraphs about physical descriptions, yes. but also the ability to paint a picture, a landscape, a portrait of emotions.
of how if feels to be a human. how it feels to fully experience the ups and downs and in-betweens that other humans can relate to.
making a person feel normal for having had specific thoughts. for having felt certain emotions.
maybe the exact scenarios and circumstances differ. doesn’t really matter. we have all had those same moments. of indecision. of inferiority. of embarrassment. of fear.
and, most likely, we’ve been fortunate enough to have had glimpses of the flip side as well. the determinedness as we take our tentative first steps toward growth. the thrill as we gain confidence with each small success. the rush of triumph as we boldly achieve and exceed our goals. happiness.
finding our way in the world. stumbling but picking ourselves back up. being true to our authentic selves.
