the weather, a milestone, and future sparks

RAIN. beating against the windowpanes.

WIND. so violent it kept me awake during the night.

COLD. unseasonably cool, and a concrete house that isn't always cozy.

following a fabulously fun birthday, i've had a surprisingly sad week. not-so-cheery news, combined with a list of physical ills, propelling me into a bleak kind of funk.

feeling the RAIN, in my very-near-the-surface tears. "the condensed moisture of the atmosphere, falling visibly from the sky in separate drops."

feeling the WIND, in my volatile-up-and-down emotions. "the perceptible natural motion of the air, moving horizontally, strong enough to be felt."

feeling the COLD, in my sometimes-fearful-and-doubting heart. "having little or no warmth, feeling an uncomfortable chill."

MY MOOD, seamlessly seeming to fit each definition . . .

but not only is it my oldest son's 24th birthday on friday, that date will also mark 6 MONTHS IN ITALY!

six months, half a year, of my life. spent living in a foreign-to-me country.

I DID IT! i've hit a significant milestone, on my very own bohemian journey!

and so many of you have been there for me, as i've experienced and experimented with this offbeat-and-unconventional trail, leading to my new existence.

thank you for your interest. thank you for your support. thank you for your encouragement.

all of it, from all over the world, has meant the world to me.

being able to share my big leap, in words and in pictures, has eased some of the transitional aches-and-pains and accentuated some of the revelations and wins.

here's to clearer skies, sunnier days, and triumphant future sparks!
