italy, you have stolen my heart.

ciao from barbarasco in tuscany!

on october 16, 2013 – almost two years ago – i wrote the following words in a blog post:

italy, you have stolen my heart.
(or maybe i’ve simply found my heart?)

i am at home.

and i’ve actually been at somewhat of a loss for words since i’ve been here.
everything i’ve seen and experienced has been grander and richer
than i ever imagined it could be.

in fact, i cannot fully describe the emotions i’ve been feeling.
it will take me awhile to process . . . the meaningfulness of this journey.

i am currently in italy again.
but not just as a tourist.
my husband and i are in the process of buying our forever home.
a beautiful dream villa that’s been awaiting our loving care.

it’s been a surreal experience to say the least.
emotional and exciting, frightening and fabulous all at once.
yet somehow right from the very beginning.
with all of the puzzle pieces falling smoothly into place.

house and details.
location and people.

one of the unexpected wonderful surprises this week has been a brand new friend.
a soul sister whose native tongue is different than mine.
she says we speak in heart language, and i agree.
because people are people, everywhere in the world.
and you never know where you might find the ones you were destined to meet.
